Cohley is at the forefront of connected digital. They needed a search strategy to help them get in front of their target audience - the brands vying for your attention on social media. 

We focused our search strategy on educating clients – from executives in boardrooms to the marketing tacticians on the keyboards. We coupled informative on-site content with robust paid search campaigns to show these potential customers how content engineering and testing can benefit their business.

  • Defined the value of “UGC”. This is a key component of the Cohley strategy and helped form the basis of our content calendar.
  • Discovered competitive gaps in UGC content. Competitors content was low-quality, and some topics were irrelevant, giving us an avenue to success.
  • Targeted high-volume topic clusters like “ugc for instagram” to build a foundation of organic traffic.
  • Built our content strategy & early paid media campaigns with queries on influencers and UGC to build a brand presence and establish authority in a space Cohley should own.
  • Created high-quality, research-driven content & paid media campaigns incorporating our target keywords to drive traffic from search.
  • Went through extensive review processes with our client – an authority on the topic – to assure quality and accuracy of the content.
  • Worked with the sales team to answer real questions that customers are asking.
  • We tied our efforts to high-value, verified leads in Hubspot. Our main KPIs are populated from a shared hubspot dashboard.
  • We also evaluated the all-in ROAS of our campaigns by tracking attributed revenue in Hubspot.
  • We forecasted performance using KPIs that mattered to senior leaders at Cohley.
  • Once we had a strong base of traffic generating content to get top of funnel users in our sales pipeline, we worked together to define what a good customer for Cohley looked like.
  • With improved content, we gradually expanded into the lower funnel to drive more cost-effective conversion.
  • We built our non-brand tactics around mid-funnel searches to balance volume and relevancy.
  • Created and reviewed content before publishing to the site.

Dave made an accidental foray into digital marketing after graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth and hasn’t looked back. Having spent the first part of his marketing journey brand-side, he now works with the Uproer team to help clients realize their goals through the lens of search.

When not at work, you’ll find Dave staying active and living a healthy lifestyle, listening to podcasts, and enjoying live music. A Minnesotan born and raised, his favorite sport is hockey and he still finds time to skate once in a while.

Dave’s DiSC style is C. He enjoys getting things done deliberately and systematically without sacrificing speed and efficiency. When it comes to evaluating new ideas and plans, he prefers to take a logical approach, always sprinkling on a bit of healthy skepticism for good measure. At work, Dave’s happiest when he has a chance to dive deep into a single project for hours at a time. He loves contributing to Uproer and being a part of a supportive team but is most productive when working solo.

Griffin Roer

Griffin discovered SEO in 2012 during a self-taught web development course and hasn’t looked back. After years of working as an SEO consultant to some of the country’s largest retail and tech brands, Griffin pursued his entrepreneurial calling of starting an agency in May of 2017.

Outside of work, Griffin enjoys going to concerts and spending time with his wife, two kids, and four pets.

Griffin’s DiSC style is D. He’s driven to set and achieve goals quickly, which helps explain why he’s built his career in the fast-paced agency business.
